Children's Ministry

The goals of Trinity’s Children’s Ministries programs are to glorify God, to help children become disciples of Jesus, to take the light of Jesus into the world as we study God’s Word and become faithful members of His Church.

Children's Church

The Children's Church is for children ages 3 years old through first grade. The children meet upstairs in their own worship area during the 10:00 service. They enjoy a time of worship, prayer, Bible lessons, and music with their own liturgy. Each week the children are encouraged to learn and memorize a Bible verse and participate in reinforcing activities such as games, art projects and movies. The children are led by volunteers on a rotating basis. The children join their parents in the church during the announcement time of the service to participate in the Eucharist.

Children's Bible Study

2nd through 5th graders meet together during the 10:00 service to study the Bible and participate in activities such as games, art, or drama to reinforce the Bible lesson. As often as is possible the studies are from the Gospel reading prescribed for that Sunday. Volunteers lead this class on rotating basis.

Curriculum and lessons for Children’s Church and the Bible Study Class are prepared and developed by Susan Groves using a variety of sources including the Rotation Sunday School Curriculum (rotation.org). All study materials and items for activities are provided for the volunteers teaching the classes.

Nursery

Children from newborn to 2 years old are lovingly cared for in our nursery area.

The Trinity Nursery is staffed by two paid workers: Shirley Trout (aka Nanny) and Katherine Kelly. On Sundays, at the 10:00 service, a nursery volunteer is also scheduled. Volunteers are scheduled on a rotating basis.

In addition to Sunday morning services, child care is also provided during small group and Bible Study meetings.

Wednesday Kids Klub

Wednesday evening programs begin with supper at 5:45. The children, ages 3 to 5th grade, have a Bible lesson and activity time from 6:30 to 7:30. The program usually consists of three components: art project or game, a movie, and music. The students are divided into three groups: Preschool to 1st Grade, 2nd and 3rd Grades, and 4th and 5th Grades. The groups rotate through the three activities.

Vacation Bible School

The summer Vactation Bible School program is open to children 4 years old to 5th grade. Each year the lessons and activities revolve around a different theme. The children rotate through a schedule of worshiop time, music, art, games, story, drama, and movies. Past themes have included Seasons of the Church Year, The "I AM" Statements of Jesus, Parables of Jesus, and Ordinary People/Extraordinary God.

TACkle Box

The best way of keeping up with all that is going on in Children's Ministry (besides coming to church each Sunday, of course!) is to read the TACkle Box.  Click the link to check out the most recent edition: TACkle Box.
